Welcome to my homepage!
I am an assistant professor of economics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. My research focuses on applied microeconomics, with particular interests in conflict theory and the Chinese economy. I am also interested in behavioral economics and machine learning/AI, and I enjoy involving students in research projects.
Before returning to UNO, I worked in industry and government as a senior data scientist at Zeenk, a statistical analyst at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, and a quantitative analyst at Farm Credit Services of America. Earlier in my academic career, I held full-time faculty positions at Colgate University, Sam Houston State University, and UNO. I earned my Ph.D. in Economics from Kansas State University in 2012.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing music, and making ceramic ocarinas.
